Fairfax County groundhog scare
October 5, 2012 - 12:27 pm
A groundhog in Fairfax County is scaring children at the Rose Hill Elementary School, according to police.
Fairfax County police said that the groundhog was “acting in an abnormal manner,” according to The Washington Post.
The suspicious groundhog behavior comes in a string of concerning animal behavior: there was a beaver in Lake Barcroft and foxes on Chain Bridge Road.
An alert was sent to Fairfax County schools officials on Sept. 28 after the animal on the playground.
The groundhog was able to escape police. Police advised Rose Hill administrators to close the playground for the day, as a precaution.
