Gregory Darnell Troxler shot, killed in Northeast

WASHINGTON (AP) - Authorities say a man was fatally shot near the Gallaudet University campus in northeast Washington.
Police say the shooting happened Wednesday afternoon in the 1100 block of 8th Street, between L Street and Florida Avenue.
Police Chief Cathy Lanier says neither the victim nor shooting was connected to the university.
Lanier says the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was identified Thursday as 21-year-old Gregory Darnell Troxler of Washington.
