Hyattsville bike race allegedly sabotaged
Officials say someone allegedly tried to sabotage a bike race in Hyattsville by throwing dangerous debris along the bike course that race organizers had previously cleared, the Hyattsville Patch reports.
According to the Patch, broken trash, loose sticks and dangerous rocks were found strewn along a wooded trail in Magruder Park, where the annual Hyattsville CX race is scheduled to be held on Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The glass has been removed and local police are increasing patrols in the area, the Patch reports. Field lights will also be kept on in the park during overnight hours to deter any potential saboteurs.
