John R. Kennedy charged in Sterling tree-trimming scam
A man has been arrested for running a tree-trimming scam that targeted a Sterling resident and possibly others.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old John R. Kennedy, of Midlothian, Va., is charged with obtaining money by false pretenses.
Deputies say Kennedy offered tree trimming services to a resident in Sterling in September under a company called Action Tree Service. Kennedy allegedly signed a contract and collected a deposit from the resident, but never completed any work.
Kennedy is being held without bond at Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
Authorities believe there are possibly more victims. If you are a victim of this scam, call 703-777-0475.
