Man brings loaded gun to Reagan National Airport
October 9, 2012 - 11:53 am
A man was cited for bringing a loaded gun to Reagan National Airport on Friday morning.
The man, who was originally ticketed to fly to Dallas, Texas, was cited on a state weapons charge. The 9mm semi-automatic handgun, ammunition and magazine the man had on him were detected by TSA officers at the airport checkpoint.
TSA contacted the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, who regularly patrol the airport. The police responded, confiscated the items. The man did not have a concealed weapons permit. The passenger was then allowed to continue on his trip, without his weapon. No other airport operations were impacted.
