Manuel Garces charged in death of Mark Earl Ives
A man has been arrested in connection with the death of Alexandria resident Mark Earl Ives.
Fairfax County Police say 30-year-old Manuel F. Garces is charged with murder for the October 7 homicide.
Authorities say they responded to a call at about 2 a.m. Sunday morning in the 5400 block of Broadmoor Street in Alexandria near Hayfield. Police say the victim was assaulted by an acquaintance and died from wounds to his upper body.
The victim is identified as Mark Earl Ives, 30, of Alexandria.
Police say they believe the victim and Garces knew each other.
Neighbors tell ABC7 they saw a trail of blood on the sidewalk leading up to the front porch of the house where the victim was discovered.
They say Ives had recently moved here from Florida with his girlfriend.
