Maryland reports 14th, 15th cases of meningitis linked to shot

BALTIMORE (AP) - The number of meningitis cases linked to steroid injections for back pain is continuing to grow in Maryland and nationwide.
The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on Saturday reported a 15th case of meningitis, one higher than the day before.
One person has died in the state after receiving the shot.
The medication, made by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts, has been recalled.
The toll nationwide has slowly been growing as well.
The latest figures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show 197 illnesses and 15 deaths in 13 states.
