Metro adding disclaimers to anti-Islam ads
October 23, 2012 - 07:18 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - Metro is adding disclaimers to ads in its system after a judge told officials that that Metro must post a controversial pro-Israel ad.
The Washington Examiner reports Metro began adding the disclaimers to all new noncommercial ads last week.
The disclaimer says that advertising space is a designated public forum and does not imply Metro endorses the views of the ad. Metro was told earlier in October that it had to post ads from the American Freedom Defense Initiative.
The pro-Israel ad equates Muslim radicals with savages. The ads also ran in New York and San Francisco.
