Metro train hits, kills person at Farragut North
A person was struck and killed by a train Tuesday morning at the Farragut North Metro station, WMATA officials say.
Metro officials say that the person was struck just before 11 a.m. by a Red Line train bound for Shady Grove.
There is no word as to the identity of the person struck. Metro Transit Police officials say the person likely intentionally placed themselves in front of a train.
Red Line trains are single tracking between Judiciary Square and Dupont Circle. The station remains open.
Due to recovery efforts, though, single tracking is also happening between McPherson Square and Foggy Bottom-GWU on the Blue and Orange Lines.
