National School Lunch Week: USDA visits Frederick school

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - A U.S. Agriculture Department official is visiting Frederick to promote National School Lunch Week.
Food and Nutrition Service Administrator Audrey Rowe was scheduled to visit Whittier Elementary School Wednesday during the lunch period.
School officials are planning a lesson focusing on local production of fresh produce used in the lunch program.
National School Lunch Week is a project of the School Nutrition Association.
It is meant to raise awareness of school lunch programs that serve more than 31 million students every day.
