Chidat Tarawally allegedly stabs student at Northwood High
Updated: October 15, 2012 - 04:19 pm
A Northwood High School student was stabbed on campus Monday morning by another student, Montgomery County Police say, and officials are trying to figure out if the incident is related to a fight that took place on campus last week.
Police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks says that the 15-year-old victim, who is not cooperating with authorities, was stabbed in the leg just before 11 a.m. in a school hallway near the cafeteria. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Chidat Tarawally, 18, was seen running off school property and arrested about an hour later.
Police are determining whether a knife found on school grounds is the knife used in the assault. Officials are also checking on the availability of surveillance video.
