Pepco: Union workers vote to ratify new contract
October 19, 2012 - 10:49 am
Union workers at Pepco have voted to ratify a four-year contract with the utility company, a Pepco official said.
Pepco spokeswoman Myra Optel confirmed that the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1900 had voted Friday morning, but had no further details on the agreement.
The Washington Post reported that the union overwhelmingly turned down a previous offer on September 26.
The workers were threatening a strike if the two sides couldn’t agree to a deal.
