UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - Police in Prince George's County are investigating a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian in critical condition.
Police say they were called around 3:15 p.m. Saturday to the 2000 block of University Boulevard.
Police say when they arrived they found a 21-year-old man lying in the road, and he was transported to a hospital.
Police say a preliminary investigation suggests the man was hit by one of two vehicles that were seen racing.
Police describe the vehicle that hit the man as a gold sedan.
The second vehicle crashed, and its driver was taken into custody.
Police say the pedestrian stepped into the roadway and was not in a crosswalk.
Police did not release his name.
