2012 ELECTION
Tim Kaine, George Allen appearing tonight at U of Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - University of Richmond President Edward Ayers will sit down with the candidates for U.S. Senate from Virginia in a conversation before an audience on campus.
The university said a limited number of tickets are available for the event, scheduled for Sunday night. Ayers will conduct separate conversations with the candidates, first with Republican George Allen and then with Democrat Tim Kaine. Each conversation is one-half hour.
The former governors are competing for a Senate seat once held by Allen in one of the most closely watched contests in the nation. The event will be webcast live by the university from a link at the top of its home page here.
