In Argo, Ben Affleck plays CIA operative Tony Mendez, who dreams up a plan to get six hostages out of Iran during the 1980 hostage crisis by passing them off as a Canadian film crew scouting locations for a sci-fi movie called 'Argo.'

The real Mendez walked the red carpet at Argo's Washington premiere. How did he come up with the idea?
