Virginia voter registration deadline arrives
FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Monday is the deadline for Virginia residents to register to vote in time for the November elections.
Voters can register in person at their local election offices or by mail. Applications that carry an Oct. 15 postmark will be accepted.
Elections officials are urging voters to check their registration status online and also double-check their polling places.
Some precinct and polling locations have changed as a result of the census-related redistricting.
Fairfax County officials say that as many as 200,000 voters in the county may not be able to cast a ballot on Nov. 6, or may go to the wrong poll location because of registration difficulties.
