Man fatally shot in Northeast near Gallaudet University

A man was fatally shot in an alley near 8th and Florida, NE, near the campus of Gallaudet University.

An ABC7 news crew inside a news truck that was on the scene covering a different story heard five to seven shots fired at about 4 p.m.

The news crew then opened the vehicle door and saw a male on the ground who appeared to be shot and bleeding.

Police pronounced the man dead on scene. Neighbors say the victim just turned 18 about a month ago. His name hasn't been released.

The suspect is described to be a black man wearing a brown sweatshirt. They believe he's riding a black bike.
