Man charged with throwing away voter registration forms in Virginia
HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) - A man who worked for a contractor hired by the state Republican Party has been charged with 13 felony and misdemeanor counts after sheriff's deputies in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley say he tossed voter registration forms into a dump bin.
The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office said it arrested 31-year-old Colin Small of Phoenixville, Pa., on Thursday on charges of voter registration fraud. He was charged after the forms were found in a dump bin in Harrisonburg.
The sheriff's office said Small is a voter registration supervisor for an independent contractor hired by the state GOP to register voters.
State Republican Chairman Pat Mullins told the Daily News Record. Small was fired immediately after the allegations surfaced.
It was not immediately clear Friday if Small has an attorney.
