The Shih Tzu, Coco, was stabbed on Sept. 21. The Washington Humane Society took the dog to a local animal hospital, where she received emergency treatment. She is still rehabilitating from the wounds and needs to be monitored throughout the day.

The person who stabbed her was taken into custody by MPD and is undergoing a mental evaluation, the Washington Humane Society reports.

The group is working with the U.S. Attorney’s office about bringing possible charges against the individual who allegedly stabbed Coco.
