Washington Post endorses Barack Obama for second term
October 25, 2012 - 01:59 pm
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Washington Post is endorsing President Barack Obama for a second term.
The newspaper says Obama is more likely to put government on sounder financial footing than Mitt Romney. The Post endorsed Obama in 2008.
It says in an editorial posted Thursday on its website that a series of tax hikes and spending cuts set to take effect Jan. 1 could knock the country back into recession.
The newspaper says Obama is better positioned to navigate the upcoming fiscal challenges. The Post also said Obama helped steady an economy that was in free fall when he took office.
