Upper Marlboro fire kills female victim
(AP, WJLA) - Authorities say a woman pulled out of her burning Upper Marlboro home Sunday morning has died.
Prince George's County fire department spokesman Mark Brady says the woman was found unconscious in a fire that was reported about 3 a.m. Sunday in a two-story house on Peachleaf Court in Upper Marlboro.
He says the woman suffered second and third-degree burns and smoke inhalation. She was taken to the Prince George's County Hospital Center in Cheverly, where she later died.
Authorities are expected to release the victim's identity Monday afternoon after an autopsy is conducted.
Fire investigators believe the cause of the fire was accidental. Fire loss is estimated at $30,000.
No other injuries were reported.
