Alexandria police chief Hassan Aden resigns

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - He's spent 25 years working for Alexandria's police department, but now Deputy Police Chief Hassan Aden is leaving for a job in North Carolina.
The Washington Post reports Aden is becoming the chief of police in Greenville, N.C.
The 47-year-old will lead a 250-person police force.
Aden has a master's degree from American University in Washington.
He joined Alexandria's police department in 1987.
