November 8, 2012 - 02:48 pm
A Hanover County woman has been charged in the death of a Virginia State Police Trooper.
Police say Angelica Valencia, 27, was charged with one count of reckless driving in the death of Trooper Andrew Fox.
Valencia allegedly struck and killed Trooper Fox while he was directing traffic outside Virginia's State Fair early October.
Several bystanders lifted the SUV off Trooper Fox and gave him CPR. He later died at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
Trooper Fox was wearing a reflective vest and was standing with other troopers directing traffic through an intersection.
Valencia and her young passenger were uninjured in the crash.
