Robbery reported near White House
After being robbed by three gunmen blocks from the White House early Friday morning, the victims got in a car and followed the suspects, but turned away when shots were fired at them.
MPD officials say the victims were robbed of their cell phones and wallets at 18th and Jefferson Place NW at about 6:25 a.m. Friday. After the robbery, police say the victims got in their vehicle and followed the suspects.
During the pursuit, the suspects shot at the victims and hit the windshield of the pursuing car, a black Porsche Cayenne. No one was injured, according to police.
The victims reported the incident to Secret Service officers at the security kiosk at H and Madison streets near the White House, police said. The officers then reported the incident to MPD, who are still looking for the suspects.
Police have issued a lookout for three males, armed with guns, in a silver or white Lincoln with D.C. tags EC0424. The men are considered dangerous.
A police spokesperson said victims should not follow suspects.
ABC7's Jennifer Donelan has the story and talks with one of the victims, a club owner.
