Bob McDonnell's beach houses burglarized
November 1, 2012 - 12:38 pm
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Two beach houses owned by Gov. Bob McDonnell's family were broken into as the governor was in Richmond overseeing the state's preparation and response to Superstorm Sandy.
The governor's office on Thursday confirmed the thefts at the two Virginia Beach properties but declined further comment.
Media outlets report that, according to Virginia Beach police, the homes were broken into sometime between Saturday and Monday and two televisions were taken.
Local police are investigating but no arrests have been made. McDonnell co-owns the properties in the Sandbridge area with his wife and his sisters.
