D.C. officer hurt in pursuit of burglary suspects in Southeast
A D.C. police sergeant suffered minor injuries when his unmarked car collided with a burglary suspect’s car and a third vehicle in Southeast.
Investigators say the officer was responding to a burglary in progress Wednesday night along the unit block of Galveston Place, SW. A pursuit ensued as the suspects tried to fled the scene, ending in a crash in the 300 block of 4th Street near Mississippi Avenue.
The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police arrested three suspects in connection with the incident. All have been charged with burglary while armed, police say.
A gun was found inside the suspect’s car, police say.
One of the suspects was hit in the head with a gun during the burglary, police said. Their condition is unknown at this time.
