D.C. school closures: Public hearings set
November 15, 2012 - 06:21 am
Two public hearings will be held in the District on plans to close 20 of the city’s schools.
The first meeting will be held Thursday, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and the second on Monday from 2 p.m. until 6p.m. Both meetings will be held in room 412 in the John A. Wilson Building in downtown Washington.
D.C. Public Schools Chancellor Kaya Henderson announced the planned closures on Tuesday. She said many of the school slated for closure have low enrollment.
Here is the list of schools to be shuttered. For a list of where students at the soon-to-be-closed schools will go after doors are closed, click here.
