Drunken person rescued from C&O Canal

A person police say was drunk is being hospitalized after rescue crews pulled them from the C&O Canal near M Street in Northwest.
The victim, who police say fell into the canal, was alert and conscious when they were removed from the water.
The victim was transported to a local hospital. There’s no information on their condition.
