Generators recalled for possible fire hazard
Close to 9,000 portable generators sold exclusively at Costco have been recalled for a possible fire hazard.
So far there have been 11 reports of fuel leaking from the Champion Power Equipment generators, including eight reports of the generators catching fire, two causing property damage.
The recall includes two models of the generators, models 41332 and 41532. Both models have a black frame with black and yellow control panels, a bar handle and two wheels.
The generators were sold at Costco from December 2011 through July 2012. Affected customers should call Champion Power Equipment for a free repair kit to be installed by an authorized dealer. Consumers can also return the generators to Costco for a full refund.
