GWU bookstore loses $200K in stolen books
WASHINGTON (AP) - Three men have been convicted of stealing textbook the George Washington University Bookstore and selling them online.
Forty-two-year-old Hao Nguyen of Falls Church, Va., and 21-year-old Darrell Coleman and 22-year-old Kiry McCullum, both of Washington were convicted Thursday. They will be sentenced Jan. 18.
According to the government's evidence, Coleman and McCullum were seasonal employees at the bookstore, where they unloaded textbooks and stocked them on shelves. Security video showed them taking books from the shelves and taking them to the loading dock.
Prosecutors say the two passed the books to Nguyen, who sold them online. The bookstore lost about $200,000 in textbooks.
