Lionel Miller wins $1M in Mega Millions drawing
November 30, 2012 - 04:20 pm
As the rest of the country was experiencing Powerball fever Wednesday, an Alexandria man quietly won $1 million in the Mega Millions drawing.
Lionel Miller’s win went virtually unnoticed.
The retired federal employee was shocked when he won and asked his wife, “How does it feel to be married to a millionaire?”
The winning ticket was bought at the Mt. Vernon Square Safeway in Alexandria. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
