ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland's highest court has upheld the state's legislative redistricting map for the General Assembly.

The court issued a brief order on Friday, two days after it heard arguments. The court said in the ruling that a written opinion will be issued later.

The map redraws the state's 47 legislative districts for 10 years. Gov. Martin O'Malley submitted the map to the General Assembly in the regular 90-day session early this year.

The Legislature did not take any action to change it, so it was enacted automatically 45 days after it was submitted.
