Olijawon Griffin death: Chavez Myers, Immanuel Swann, Deon Jefferson, Gary Maye due in court
Four teens charged with fatally stabbing 18-year-old Olijawon Griffin at the Woodley Park Metro are due in court for a preliminary hearing Friday.
The suspects, Chavez Myers, Immanuel Swann, Deon Jefferson and Gary Maye, who are all 17-year-olds, have been charged as adults in connection with the Nov. 15 death.
Swann, Jefferson and Maye are scheduled to appear in D.C. Superior Count at 9:30 a.m., and Myers at 2:15 p.m.
Police say one of the teens stabbed Griffin after the group robbed him of his brand new, $400 jacket in Adams Morgan. According to court documents, Griffin initially attempted to buy marijuana from the group but they lured him into an alley and mugged him.
Three of the teens face armed robbery charges. The fourth teen is charged with the armed robbery of another person on the lower platform of the metro station before Griffin's murder.
