OXON HILL, Md. (AP) - A man who died in a weekend home fire in Oxon Hill is being identified as 59-year-old Douglas Williams. Williams died Sunday after being pulled from his burning home in the 5100 block of Boulder Drive.
Fire officials released his name late Monday. Witnesses reported that Williams helped his wife to safety before returning inside the home.
Fire officials say he became unconscious while in the home and was found in the area of the kitchen and dining room. It took 30 firefighters approximately 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze. The fire also caused more than $50,000 in damage.
