Police: Man falls from Ballston Common Mall garage
November 19, 2012 - 02:07 pm
A man has several head and internal injuries after falling about 35 feet from the parking garage at Ballston Common Mall, police say.
Dustin Sternbeck, spokesperson for the Arlington County Police, says the man tried to run from police after a hit-and-run on the G4 level of the garage Monday. Witnesses say the man jumped over the railing and was hanging before falling and hitting his head on the pavement.
Sternbeck says the man is no stranger to both police and EMS crews due to previous encounters with him as an intoxicated person.
The man was taken to Fairfax Hospital. His exact condition is not known.
