Fairfax County Police released a photo of a man they believe followed a teenage girl inside the restroom at Thomas Jefferson Library in Falls Church then assaulted her.

Police are canvassing town with fliers about the November 6 assault.

A 17-year-old girl told investigators she felt a man was watching her study last Tuesday night.

When she ducked into the bathroom to get his eyes off her, he reportedly followed her in, then touched and pushed her.

Police say he fled when she started screaming.

Surveillance cameras caught a photo of the suspect.

Library staff told police they've seen him here before, but hadn't heard of any trouble.

The suspect is described as having a medium-brown complexion, around 5' 9" and 170 pounds.

He has a shaved head, a gap in his front teeth, and a diagonal scar on his forehead.

Police say the victim was shaken up, but not physically harmed.

Police are asking anyone who may know the suspect or has seen him in their neighborhood to contact Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS/8477, e-mail at www.fairfaxcrimesolvers.org or text “TIP187” plus your message to CRIMES/274637 or call Fairfax County Police at 703-691-2131.
