Redskins Harvest Feast feeds 3,500 Prince George’s families for Thanksgiving
The Thanksgiving bustle is underway for the Washington Redskins. The team’s charitable foundation, along with several Redskins legends, the Hogettes, and more than 200 volunteers are assembling and distributing 3,500 turkeys and Thanksgiving food baskets to Prince George’s County residents in need Tuesday.
The event is taking place at the 10th annual Redskins-Harris Teeter ‘Harvest Feast’ at FedEx Field. All children in attendance will receive a special visit from Santa and gift bags which include a Redskins Read Activity Book, toys, and treats.
Since 2003, the Redskins have gifted over 818,600 pounds of packaged and fresh food and 285,500 pounds of turkey to families in need in the D.C. area.
