Redskins training camp deal approved by Richmond council
November 13, 2012 - 06:44 am
Richmond’s city council has approved a resolution to build a nearly $9 million training camp for the Washington Redskins.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports the resolution, which was opposed by many residents in Richmond’s west end, was passed by a 6-2 vote.
Various aspects of the economic development package will have to be approved by the council in the coming weeks.
The camp is expected to bring about $8.5 million dollars into Richmond each year.
The franchise is expected to begin holding training camp in Virginia's capital city in 2013.
