WASHINGTON (AP) - A District of Columbia man has been sentenced to 120 days in jail for killing a puppy.

Sean Delontay Branch was sentenced on Tuesday in Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to felony cruelty of animals in September.

The U.S. attorney's office says Branch dropped a cement slab that weighed more than 90 pounds on King Tut, a six-month-old puppy that was asleep and tied to a fence in northeast Washington in June. Prosecutors say Branch was angry at the puppy's owner.

After serving his sentence, Branch will be on three years of supervised release.

Judge Herbert B. Dixon, Jr., also sentenced Branch meet certain conditions during his period of supervised release, including ways to handle anger management.
