Skimmer devices found on local hospital ATM's
Police say two skimmer devices were placed on local hospital ATM's this week.
One was found on the ATM near the lobby gift shop at Inova Fairfax Hospital on Monday. An employee noticed that the card slot was loose and when she inserted her card the skimmer fell off. Police removed a skimmer from the same machine in mid-September.
A second skimmer was found on the ATM located near the cafeteria in Inova Fair Oaks Hospital Wednesday.
Neither of the machines are owned or monitored by Inova staff.
Consumers who may have used either of the machines in recent weeks should check their bank statements closely. If they notice inconsistencies, they should contact their bank and the police.
