Investigators have identified the 32-year-old man who was murdered inside his Franconia home last Friday afternoon.
Fairfax County Police officials say that Andy Yun Lun, a 32-year-old resident of Hydranga Drive, was killed Friday, allegedly by his roommate.
An anonymous call led to the grizzly discovery of Lun inside his town home in the 6000 block of Hydrangea Drive in Franconia late last week.
Eric Kweder, a 34-year-old man who rented a room in Lun's house, was arrested later Friday and charged with his murder, police say.
An army of police and investigators descended on the neighborhood and found the owner of the town home murdered, apparently struck with a blunt object. As shocked neighbors looked on, police scoured the home for clues.
“So many police cars and I mean, you know it is very disturbing,” says Lulu Miller, a neighbor’s niece.
Investigators quickly honed in on Kweder, who rented a room in the house, They removed the car neighbors say Kweder took exceptional care of. One neighbor says she knows the victim and his tenant had conflicts in the past.
“At least once there was a dispute between them that I overheard on the street in front of the house,” neighbor Mary Keane said.
A few miles away the search intensified. Officers combed a wooded area in the Bren Mar section of Fairfax County. They also asked residents whether they had seen Kweder.
“He said ‘There is a murderer on the loose. Somebody murdered his roommate,’” says Lori Bruce of Alexandria.
Several hours after the discovery of the body, police cornered Kweder. They found him a short distance from the home and promptly charged him with murder. As for the victim, his neighbors have trouble grasping how a man they viewed as so kind could meet such a vicious end.
“Just really nice, decent guy. Always remember your name and say hi to you,” Keane said.
