United flight diverted to Dulles over unruly passenger

A United Airlines flight from Denver made an emergency landing at Dulles Airport overnight after a passenger refused to follow landing instructions.

Other passengers tell WTOP the man was yelling, would not sit down, and started praying in the aisle.

Dulles officials say flight 662 was taxied to the gate and the place was cleared of passengers. One person who was reportedly fell ill is being evaluated by paramedics.

Unites Airlines spokesperson Megan McCarthy confirmed that an emergency was declared, but would not give any further details.
