Va. Task Force One returns home after Sandy mission
November 6, 2012 - 09:31 am
A local task force is returning home Tuesday after spending days helping with storm recovery efforts in the New Jersey area.
The Virginia Task Force One unit is scheduled to arrive in Chantilly at 11:30 a.m.
During their mission, crew members conducted water rescue operations and went door-to-door, evacuating residents during the first several days after Superstorm Sandy devastated the East Coast.
The mission included stops in the Fort Dix, Little Ferry and Moonachie areas. Crew members also worked in Hoboken, N.J., and Staten Island, N.Y.
