ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) - A Gaithersburg man charged with murdering his roommate at Maryland's maximum-security psychiatric hospital has been found not competent to stand trial.

The Baltimore Sun reports that 24-year-old Vitali Davydov is back at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital in Jessup.

The ruling Tuesday in Howard County reversed the results of a February finding that Davydov was competent to stand trial. He is charged with first-degree murder in the beating death last year of 22-year-old David Rico-Noyola.

The state's attorney's office says a psychiatrist who evaluated Davydov reported that he displayed tendencies of schizophrenia and paranoia.

Judge Lenore Gelfman ordered re-evaluations every 30 days. Davydov's trial is still set for Feb. 4.

He was first committed to Perkins in 2006 after being found not criminally responsible for killing a Bethesda psychiatrist.
