Today’s scanning of the pop-culture files finds Steve Jobs, Fleetwood Mac, Taylor Swift, One Direction, other things, and the mystery music video.
THAT’S KELSO?: Not exactly, per Us Weekly, “In the first official photo from the set of jOBS -- the biopic focused on Steve Jobs' life -- Ashton Kutcher shows off his incredible makeover for the role of the late Apple founder. (Old fashioned hair and makeup are to thank for Kutcher's eerie resemblance to the tech visionary, who passed away in October 2011.)” http://usm.ag/11KaK5B
MEANWHILE: Early buzz for Sundance, per The Hollywood Reporter, “The highly anticipated Steve Jobs biopic, jOBS, will close the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, organizers said Monday. The film, starring Ashton Kutcher, is one of several projects in the festival's noncompetition Premieres section that is toplined by a mainstream star. Other projects feature Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (all three appear in Don Jon's Addiction), Shia LaBeouf (The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman) and Amanda Seyfried (Lovelace).” http://bit.ly/Tyjo1G
DON’T STOP: Thinking about tomorrow, per Rolling Stone, “After months of reunion rumors, Fleetwood Mac announced Tuesday that they'll return to the road next spring for an extensive tour that will take them all over the globe. The trek will kick off in Columbus, Ohio on April 4th; tickets go on sale December 14th. "It's the perfect time to go back out," Stevie Nicks tells Rolling Stone. "2013 is going to be the year of Fleetwood Mac." http://rol.st/UbUyDC
TWITTER MADNESS: Rather, a difference of opinion, per The Wrap, “Bob Costas surprised "Sunday Night Football" viewers by advocating for gun control a day after Kansas City Chief Jovan Belcher's murder-suicide. No surprise here but Ted Nugent didn't appreciate it. . . "We thought Bob Costas was smarter than that," the musician wrote (on Twitter). "Only fools blame tools instead of human failings. Shame Bob." http://bit.ly/VtiyoU
EDDIE VEDDER: Of a new platform, per Entertainment Weekly, “Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is slated to host a new, limited-run show on SiriusXM in which he’ll spin his favorite discs and discuss the groups he looks to for inspiration. He’ll also be dishing out stories from his long, lauded career in music.” http://bit.ly/VsEnbM
ROYAL TWINS: It’s out there, per Radar, “With the world buzzing about Kate Middleton's pregnancy, medical experts say the fact that she is experiencing hyperemesis gravidarum, or severe nausea, could very well signal that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting twins.” http://rdar.co/11x0JcK
PSY: Stands for. . .per the BBC, “Gangnam Style, by the Korean pop star Psy, is officially the world's most watched video on YouTube with nearly 900 million views. In Singapore, as part of a whirlwind tour, 34-year-old Psy met the BBC's Rico Hizon. He told him that his success is still strange, and that the Gangnam song was inspired by Western music. Psy is short for psycho, according to the artist.” http://eonli.ne/VjfwRI
WELL, WELL: And the saga continues, per Celebuzz, “Taylor Swift and Harry Styles’ romance appears to be heating up, as new photos showed the rumored couple singing karaoke and, later, holding hands as they snuck into Swift’s New York hotel after 4 a.m. The late-night went down on Monday, after Styles and his One Direction boy-band members performed a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden.” http://bit.ly/TGMgoI
OF HOBBITS: Reviews are mixed, per indieWIRE, “There are a lot of highly anticipated movies coming out this month, from Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty" to Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained." But the toppermost of the poppermost for many film geeks is "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," the first part of a planned trilogy of "Lord of the Rings" prequels by filmmaker Peter Jackson and his team of special effects wizards (and hobbits, and elves, and assorted other fantasy creatures) at Weta Workshop.” http://bit.ly/SCNRhN
