BW Parkway crash: Man crashes car, dies shortly after

One person is dead after a single vehicle crash Monday at 11 am on Baltimore-Washington Parkway between Annapolis Road and Riverdale Road in Landover, Maryland.
Firefighters and medics were alerted to the crash that was located on the median strip of the parkway after the car, traveling northbound, went off the road and hit a large tree in the median.
The victim, who was the only occupant in the car, is described as an adult male, around 40 years old. He was pulled out of his car by firefighters when they arrived on the scene and was taken to a nearby trauma center. He was pronounced dead a short time after.
