George Zimmerman: New photo shows bloody face on night of shooting
A new photo of George Zimmerman that was purportedly taken on the night he shot Trayvon Martin in late February was released by his lawyers on Monday.
The photo shows Zimmerman, who says he shot Martin in Sanford, Fla. on Feb. 26 in self-defense, with a bloody nose and a scratch on the bridge of his nose.
Zimmerman has maintained throughout his defense that he shot the 17-year-old Martin after the teen attacked him.
The photo would seem to back up police reports from the night of the shooting that Zimmerman was bleeding from the nose and back of his head after the incident.
Zimmerman's lawyers originally released the photo on their legal fund website, GZLegalFund.com.
