GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP/WJLA) - Maryland State Police have released the description of the vehicle that struck and killed a man early Saturday on I-295.
Police say 71-year-old Henry Smith was hit while walking on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway around 3 a.m. The driver did not stop.
Police say they got a call about a person walking in the northbound lanes of the parkway, also known as Route 295, near Interstate 695 in Glen Burnie.
When police arrived, Smith was found lying in the left lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they don't know why Smith was walking on the highway. They've found no evidence that he had broken down while driving in the area.
Police are looking for a light blue Toyota with the left headlight out and a dragging front bumper. The car apparently exited I-295 onto Waterview Ave. in the Westport area of Baltimore.
Anyone with information should call police.
