I-495 multi-car accident causes miles-long delays

A multiple-mile backup has been reported after several cars were involved in an accident on I-495 after Connecticut Ave.

The accident occurred on the outer loop of 495. The crash involved six to seven cars, according to Metro Traffic.

As a result of the incident, there is a five to six mile backup as of 6:10 am.

The involved vehicles have now been moved to the shoulder, Maryland State Police are saying.
