Justin Wolfe: Defense seeks to halt retrial for murder
Lawyers for a Virginia man whose murder conviction and death sentence were thrown out will try Tuesday to get a judge to stop prosecutors from re-trying him.
Justin Wolfe was convicted in 2002 and sent him to death row for the murder of fellow drug dealer Daniel Petrole. But a federal court overturned Wolfe's conviction last year after the prosecution’s star witness recanted his testimony.
Wolfe’s lawyers say prosecutors recently met with Owen Barber, and tried to coerce him into changing his testimony again.
